MORE Bonus Time
~I've come to a difficult decision. My contract in Japan lasted for one year, and I renewed for another three weeks due to a scheduling problem with my replacement. Last week, however, I was informed of another problem: the person who was supposed to replace me in three weeks has unexpectedly backed out for unknown reasons. My company is facing a personnel shortage, and they asked me to renew for an additional nine months.
It's a tough choice, since leaving would mean that all of my students would unexpectedly have their contracts terminated, since there's no one to replace me. My school would also be very disrupted and would lose a lot of business, which would be tough for everyone involved. After considering all that, I've decided to accept a new nine-month contract (under very favorable conditions, I might add). This means that I won't be home in April, but rather next January. David Does Japan will of course continue to update with all of my new experiences in Japan.
I don't know if I'll be flying back to America for a visit; I haven't planned that far in advance. If I do visit, it will be you, my loyal readers, who will be among the first to know. In the meantime, feel free to fly over here and visit me! ~Oyasumi.
